SR Guide Service is a family-owned business based in Scott Valley, California, with decades of experience in hunting, fishing, and packing mules through the rugged backcountry wilderness. Our family has spent years exploring and enjoying the Marble, Russian and Trinity wilderness ranges, often embarking on memorable camping trips to the remote lakes nestled within these beautiful mountains.
Whether you're looking for a guided hunting adventure or a peaceful fishing retreat, our knowledge of the local wilderness ensures that you’ll experience the best of what these mountains have to offer.
Our packing service is central to our offerings, enabling us to assist hunters, anglers, and adventurers with gear and supplies to reach the more remote corners of the backcountry. We understand the challenges of the wild, and we’re here to ensure you and your gear arrive safely.
At SR Guide Service, we pride ourselves on providing a family-oriented, personalized service where you’re treated like one of our own. Whether you’re venturing out on your first hunt or returning for another family camping trip, we are committed to making your time in the wilderness both memorable and safe.
We take great pride in our seasoned pack strings and dependable riding horses and mules. Our animals are carefully selected and trained to navigate the rugged backcountry with ease, ensuring a safe and reliable experience for all our clients. Whether you're packing into the wilderness or enjoying a scenic ride, you can trust our "dude-safe" stock to provide a smooth and enjoyable adventure. Our animals are as much a part of our family as our clients, and we’re committed to their well-being and your safety throughout your journey.
In recent years, many trails have been affected by downed trees and overgrown brush, making access more difficult and hazardous. We work closely with the Forest Service and nonprofit organizations to help manage these challenges by packing in tools and supplies to clear fallen trees and overgrown brush. Our efforts ensure that the trails remain safe and passable, allowing others to continue enjoying the wilderness while also contributing to the restoration and resilience of the land.
